A pair of Cornish Tin cufflinks in the shape of a traditional Cornish Pasty. The first known Cornish Pasty came into existance around the 18th century. It is thought they were introduced to supply the miners, who worked long hours in terrible conditions, and needed a nutritious yet portable meal to last them through the day. The crusts were used as handles for the miners to safely hold and then thrown away for the Knockers to eat, the miners little 'friends' and protectors who lived in the mines. These tin cufflinks are a great gift for a 10th Wedding anniversary, traditionally the gift of Tin. The South Crofty tin pasty cufflinks are also one of our best selling items for Traditional Cornish weddings and Fathers Day presents. Made from 100% Cornish Tin, mined at South Crofty before closure in 1998 and reserved for our exclusive use. |
